French Creek is a lost township just west of Lansing, settled in the mid 1850’s, French Creek once boasted a mill and surrounding settlement, all that remains today are the remnants of a one room school house. Nonetheless, French Creek survives as a destination for fisherman, hunters, and nature lovers of all kinds. The French Creek Wildlife Area offers thousands of state owned acres, with a convenient public access point to miles of unspoiled waterways, wildlife, and unique geological features.

The House at French Creek, formerly known as Sous Les Sapins, sits high atop the hill overlooking this wildlife refuge, with a commanding view of miles of bucolic splendor. Meadowlands, farmsteads, and endless blue sky await just outside the door. The House at French Creek has been established as a retreat center, exploration garden, and test kitchen featuring all of the unique agricultural bounty the region has to offer. The house is also available on a limited basis to individual visitors to the Lansing area.
